Making a Donation to House Rabbit Society
We invite you to support House Rabbit Society by either becoming a member (membership begins at $18 per year; $25 for non-US) or by making a one-time or recurring donation. Our payment system is hosted by Verisign, one of the most trusted names in security on the web. You can also join our very special Bunny Brigade Club by becoming a monthly donor! If you’d rather donate by check, you can print out a membership form and mail it in instead.
House Rabbit Society is the only international rabbit rescue and education organization in the world. We have 31 chapters in 22 states plus Canada and Italy, and educators and fosterers in an additional 10 states plus Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Australia. We also run a one-of-a-kind Adoption and Education Center in Richmond, California. All of our activities, besides the running of the shelter, are run by volunteers, so our overhead and administrative costs are minimal. The vast majority of your donations go directly to our programs: rescue and education. In addition, we offer both chapter grants to help support the activities of our chapters, and Emergency Rescue Grants, which help other organizations with large rabbit rescues. As a member of the House Rabbit Society, you will receive The House Rabbit Journal. You can expect to receive your first Journal via bulk mail within 3 months of joining.
Because HRS receives no government support, nor do we accept advertising dollars, we count on the generosity of our members to keep our rescue and education programs alive. Without funding, our avenues for education–the House Rabbit Journal, this website, our classes, videos, posters, and handouts, as well as the running of our shelter and our grant programs–would be eliminated. You can also support our activities in other ways, such as through sponsoring a rabbit, contributing to our medical fund, supporting HRS chapters, leaving us a bequest, having your company provide matching gifts, and shopping.
