So chase away your winter blues and join us for this fun, festive, and delicious event!
Please join us for a film screening of Rebecca Allison Sansom’s Equal Hoppertunity. As Rebecca describes, “This documentary is rated “R” (for rabbits). The film takes a look at the most misunderstood pet of them all, the domestic rabbit, and the people who love them. It also delves into how we treat our pets, by enforcing existing animal rights laws, and taking responsibility as a pet owner, because we can’t always trust the well meaning pet store workers, as we see in the film. Some guerrilla style film-making, animations, and the bunny crusaders make this documentary a sobering comedy, you’ll laugh, cry, and hopefully learn something new.”
Join us for this inaugural film screening followed by a discussion of the film and a vegan potluck!
Hosted by House Rabbit Society’s Rabbit Center in Richmond. Suggested $5 donation to support rabbit rescue, but no one turned away for lack of funds. Please also bring a vegan dish to share for the potluck!

We invite you participate in our new community garden for the rabbits! Help us design and plant the garden with vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers to feed the rabbits and their humans! We spend so much money buying vegetables, and have all this garden space available at the Rabbit Center; our hope is to grow enough veggies to be able to feed the rabbits with our own harvest, and have a little leftover for us humans to enjoy as well! Sign up today at by emailing christiana@rabbit.org or calling us at 510-970-7575!
HRS is hosting a fundraising and educational booth at the Solano Stroll! Join us for a fun, hopefully sun-filled day on Solano Avenue. Sign up to volunteer for a few hours, and then check out all the other awesome booths, watch the parade, enjoy tons of yummy food, spread awareness about the plight of unwanted rabbits, and help HRS raise funds all at the same time!
Email hq@rabbit.org if you are interested in volunteering. Thanks!
