House Rabbit Society’s Board of Directors is excited to announce that we have a new Board President!
After 4 years as President of the House Rabbit Society Board, Dawn Sailor stepped down and at our May 2022 Board meeting, the Board unanimously voted in Laurie Gigous as our new President.
Ms. Gigous has been on the HRS board since 1996, and over the past decade has chaired the HRS Licensing Committee, and most recently served as the board’s Vice President. Ms. Gigous can trace her volunteer work with HRS back to the early 90s and includes a turn as the chapter manager for the Orange County chapter. She currently works in the safety/health environment field and before that in human resources and corporate banking.
“The board welcomes Laurie as House Rabbit Society’s new Board President and we look forward to continuing to work together to make the world a better place for rabbits,” said board member Paige Parsons. Laurie added, “I am honored to serve as HRS Board President. We’ve been through a lot of change in the past year, and I am optimistic about the future. We at HRS look forward to educating even more people about how special rabbits are. They are social and intelligent and make excellent household companions for the right individuals.”
