About Our Web Site

house rabbit on computer

House Rabbit Society’s web site went online in November of 1994. Originally we were located at MIT’s CSAIL research group, and in the summer of 1996 we acquired our own domain name and moved the site to its current location. Since then, millions of people have visited our site; we’ve had over 100 million hits to date.

Paige Parsons created the original version of rabbit.org in 1994. She originally designed and implemented the site on a Macintosh using BBEdit and Photoshop. Visit Paige’s personal web page to find out more about Paige and her rabbits.

In 2012 we migrated the site to WordPress. We will be doing a major upgrate to our website in 2022. If you have web design, graphic design, photography or wordpress skills that you can lends to the cause, we’d love to hear from you about volunteering. Please email paige@rabbit.org to get involved.
