Julie Smith PhD

Julie A. Smith PhD was an Associate Professor in Medieval and Renaissance Literature at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater until she retired in 2011. In the early 1990s, She founded and managed the Wisconsin House Rabbit Society and maintained an adoption center and sanctuary. Her research and writing interest has been on the ways that western cultural creates its interpretations of animal minds and maintains its investment in those interpretations. She is currently writing a book on what it is like to be a rabbit.
